Please always take a moment to remember all those who have served our regiments today and in the past that are no longer with us and spare a thought for the families and friends who mourn their Loss having made the ultimate sacrifice.

They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:

Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.

At the going down of the sun and in the morning,

We will remember them.

A Well Respected and Most Loved Member Has Passed Away

It was with great sadness that we learned that our much loved and respected Guards Club member, Cliff Dearing, passed away on the morning of Wednesday the 11th May 2016. Though Cliff had been quite poorly for some time, his passing was sudden and unexpected. Cliff was a man of great stature and as well as other obvious joys that his presence brought us, we will miss his lovely sense of humour and fun.

He enjoyed joining in the good natured banter that draws us all closer together as Guardsmen. His wise counselling was always to be heard when difficult decisions had to be made. Cliff is going to be sorely missed by his many friends and all members of our Guards Club. Our feelings of love and great sympathy go to Cliff’s dear wife Hilary and the rest of his family

The arrangements for Cliffs’ funeral have been finalised as follows:

Thursday 2nd June 12 noon at the Seven Hill Crematorium, Felixstowe Road, Nacton, Ipswich, Suffolk, IP10 0DQ.

After the funeral you are invited to join Hillary and her family at: Kesgrave Conference Centre Twelve Acre Approach Kesgrave, IP5 1JF

Major (Rtd) Don Charles,

President Household Division Association Colchester

"O god grant that thy servants, the Grenadier Guards, may ever be mindful of their proud and costly heritage, that continuing to guard what is right and fighting for what is just, they may so serve thee here in this life that they may be counted worthy to join those who now continue their service in the life to come. Through Jesus Christ our lord. Amen".
