Please always take a moment to remember all those who have served our regiments today and in the past that are no longer with us and spare a thought for the families and friends who mourn their Loss having made the ultimate sacrifice.

They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:

Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.

At the going down of the sun and in the morning,

We will remember them.

Another of our Brothers has Passed

It is with greatest of sadness that I must report the passing of another of our Brothers. Our long term Chairman and club stalwart Robin (Bob) Naden finally lost his battle with cancer on 30th May 2017.

Bob served his time with the 2nd Btn Coldstream Guards and on being discharged he did a stint with the Airborne Reserve. He spent most of his life serving his country as a policeman finishing as a senior rank in Special Branch.

On retiring from the Police, he worked for the immigration department carrying out deportation work as well as running his own security consultancy. He was one of the founding members of our little club and served us well for many years and it would be true to say the club will not be the same without him.

He enjoyed the great outdoors and would spend many a day or evening trying to bag something for the pot and out of season you could find him clay shooting but if you needed to see him go to the haven and you would find him with his other shooting buddy his beloved springer Hallie.

Bob was loyal to his Family, Friends & Country, we wish his family our deepest condolences at this sad time. Bob will be Cremated at the Colchester Crematorium at 12:30 on Monday 26th June. Unfortunately because of numbers the wake afterwards will be Restricted to Family and Close Friends.

A Just Giving page has been set up in Bob's name by his Son & Daughter to raise funds for St Helens Hospice; whose nurses cared for Bob so well in his final days. All Donations will be gratefully received
